Terms and Conditions

1. Payment, Booking & Service Fees

All Studio 1228 services must be paid for in advance. Payment in full is required before services are provided and, for in-person sessions, before a booking date and time are reserved.

Virtual Styling Services

Virtual styling services are offered at a flat rate of $250. The full service fee must be paid in advance of the scheduled welcome call and before any services or deliverables are provided.

In-Person Organizing & Styling Sessions

In-person services start at $72 per hour, with a three-hour minimum per session.

Sessions are scheduled individually by date and duration, in advance, by mutual agreement between Studio 1228 and the Client. An invoice reflecting the agreed session duration and applicable fees will be provided in advance. The invoice must be paid in full before the session date and time can be reserved.

Services are provided on a per-session basis. Before each session, Studio 1228 and the Client will discuss and agree upon how the booked time will be utilized, including the areas to be addressed, project priorities, and intended goals. These discussions will determine the number of hours scheduled.

Payment reserves the agreed-upon session time and covers the services scheduled for that booking. Any additional time or services beyond the original booking must be discussed and approved by the Client and scheduled separately, subject to availability and applicable fees.

Consultation Deposit

A $25 deposit is required to book the initial consultation. The deposit will be applied toward the Client's selected service, subject to the agreed cancellation and rescheduling policy.

2. Product Purchasing, Sourcing & Personal Shopping

Furniture, decor, organizational products, and other purchases are separate from Studio 1228's service fees and are made at the Client's discretion.

Client-Managed Purchases

Studio 1228 will present relevant product options and recommendations to the Client in advance for review and approval. The Client may choose to purchase items directly and have them delivered or otherwise available and ready for the scheduled session.

Studio 1228 is not responsible for ensuring that client-purchased products arrive by a particular date or for managing retailer orders, shipping, returns, or exchanges unless separately agreed upon in writing.

Personal Shopping & Purchases Made by Studio 1228

If the Client elects to have Studio 1228 purchase items on their behalf as part of a personal shopping service, the following terms apply:

  • Product selections and the proposed budget must be presented to and approved by the Client before purchases are made.

  • Studio 1228 will make approved purchases on the Client's behalf within the agreed budget and purchasing authorization.

  • The Client is responsible for the cost of all approved items, including any applicable taxes, shipping, delivery, and other associated fees.

  • Product costs and applicable shipping or delivery fees will be billed to the Client separately from service fees and must be paid according to the invoice terms before purchases are made or orders are placed, as applicable.

  • Any changes to the approved budget or purchases outside the agreed authorization require the Client's approval in advance.

Personal Shopping Service Fee

Personal shopping is a separate service and is subject to an hourly fee agreed upon with the Client in advance of the service.

The applicable hourly rate and estimated time commitment will depend on the nature and complexity of the request, including the number of items being sourced, the rarity or availability of particular products, and the research and coordination involved.

The agreed personal shopping service fee must be paid in advance. Product costs and associated shipping or delivery fees are separate from the personal shopping service fee.

Additional Fees & Expenses

Any applicable travel fees, shopping or sourcing fees, product costs, delivery expenses, or other project-related charges for sourced items, decor, or products will be communicated to and approved by the Client in advance.

Construction, painting, installation, contractor services, and other specialty work are not included in these services and must be booked separately through a qualified and appropriately authorized business or contractor of the Client's choosing.

3. Payment, Refunds & Cancellations

The Client agrees to pay for services and approved expenses according to the agreed-upon rates and invoice, which will be provided in advance of services. Additional work or charges require prior approval.

The Client agrees to provide reasonable notice of any requested cancellation or schedule change in accordance with the policies outlined below.

If the Client is late or is not ready to begin at the scheduled time, the session may need to be shortened or rescheduled, subject to availability and applicable agreed-upon fees.

Studio 1228 may reschedule due to illness, emergencies, unsafe conditions, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control. Both parties will make reasonable efforts to arrange an alternative appointment.

Cancellations

The Client must provide at least 48 hours' notice to cancel a scheduled session to receive a full refund.

Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice are non-refundable, and the Client will be charged 100% of the scheduled session fee. This charge reflects the reserved time and the limited opportunity to offer that appointment to another client.

Rescheduling

The first session reschedule is permitted at no additional charge.

Any subsequent rescheduling requests will incur a $25 rescheduling fee.

Rescheduling requests must be communicated in advance and are subject to Studio 1228's availability.

Rescheduling requests made with less than eight hours' notice may be treated as cancellations and subject to the cancellation fee outlined above.

Refunds

Payments for services already provided are non-refundable. Once a session or service has been completed, the Client is not eligible for a refund of the fee paid for that service.

For prepaid services that have not yet been provided, any applicable cancellation, refund, or credit will be handled in accordance with the terms of this Agreement and applicable law.

4. Confidentiality

Studio 1228 recognizes that working in a home may involve access to private spaces, personal belongings, and confidential information.

Studio 1228 agrees to treat the Client's personal information and household circumstances with reasonable care and discretion and not to knowingly disclose confidential information except as authorized by the Client, required by law, or reasonably necessary to perform the agreed-upon services.

The Client agrees to communicate any specific privacy concerns or restricted areas before a session begins.

5. Intellectual Property

All original mood boards, design concepts, floor plans, written recommendations, and other materials created by Studio 1228 remain the intellectual property of Studio 1228 unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

Clients may use these materials for personal, non-commercial purposes within their own homes. Any materials or images provided by the Client remain the Client's property.

6. Privacy Policy

Studio 1228 respects the privacy of its clients and will handle personal information with reasonable care. Client information will be used as reasonably necessary to provide services, communicate about projects, and process payments.

7. Service Modification

Studio 1228 reserves the right to modify, reschedule, or discontinue services when reasonably necessary due to availability, unforeseen circumstances, safety concerns, or changes in the scope of work.

Any material changes affecting an agreed-upon booking will be communicated to the Client.

8. Limitation of Liability

Studio 1228 will exercise reasonable care in providing services but cannot guarantee specific outcomes.

To the extent permitted by law, Studio 1228 is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, retailer or delivery delays, product defects, or the acts or omissions of independent third-party providers.

9. Warranties & Disclaimers

Studio 1228 provides professional organizing and styling recommendations based on the Client's needs, preferences, and agreed-upon budget.

Recommendations are subjective and do not guarantee particular results, product performance, availability, or suitability. Products purchased from third-party retailers are subject to their respective warranties, terms, and return policies.

10. Resolving Disputes

In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the matter through direct communication before pursuing formal legal remedies.

Any legal proceedings will be subject to applicable law and jurisdictional requirements.

11. Right to Terminate

Either party may request to end the service relationship by providing written notice.

If services are terminated, the Client remains responsible for payment for services already performed and authorized expenses or commitments, to the extent permitted by applicable law and the agreed-upon payment terms.

Prepaid amounts and outstanding balances will be reconciled in accordance with this Agreement and applicable law.

Studio 1228 may suspend or terminate services if the Client fails to make required payments, repeatedly fails to provide access or necessary decisions, requests unlawful work, or creates unsafe or inappropriate working conditions.

Any statutory cancellation or refund rights remain unaffected.
